Out of class projects:

3D Printed RC plane

Had never flown a remote controlled plane before, yet wanted to. As is typical of an engineer, I decided to make my own instead of buying one. It flew for 3.7 seconds before crashing.

3D Printed Robot Dog

Ever since Boston Dynamics released Spot and MIT students created Cheetah, I have been fascinated by robot dogs. The dog shown above is my 2nd attempt at a 3D printed robot dog, and I am still working on it.

3D Printed RC Boat

Why buy a remote controlled boat when I could make one? This was my first big project on a 3D printer and it actually never ended up floating… I did at least learn a lot about remote control electronics and printing.

In-Class Projects:

Round-the-Pole Plane

This was our teams final capstone project at a NSLC aerospace engineering camp. We made a Round-the-Pole plane with a single motor from a limited selection of materials. We won the challenge with over nine times as many points as the second-place team.

Nerf Turret

To demonstrate projectile motion for my physics final project, I built a Nerf turret using a Raspberry Pi, a custom built circuit board, DC motors, stepper motors, and a variety of 3D printed parts. Overkill? You decide.
